A young Indian girl has been sent to early grave by her smartphone after it exploded while she was making a call.
18-year-old Uma Oram plugged her phone to an electricity outlet to charge while was speaking to a relative when the tragedy happened at her home in the village of Kheriakani in the eastern Indian state of Odisha.
So, it was due to the charging it and making call at once that simulated the explosion.- I can say.
Uma received injured on her hand, chest and leg and was knocked unconscious before being taken to hospital where she was finally declared dead.
Her brother said she had wanted to talk with a relative earlier after lunch but found that the phone, had run out of battery power.
‘The cell phone… was put on charging when she started talking to a relative.
‘Before we could know what exactly happened, Uma fell unconscious. She was declared dead at the hospital.’
Judging by the pictures of the incident, some media sources in India said a Nokia 5233, released in 2010 exploded, leading to her death.
MailOnline has requested few comment from Nokia. It is not yet clear what caused the explosion.
Police have reportedly arrived at the scene to gather statements and the victim's body has been sent for post-mortem.
