Ugandan medical doctors to embark on indefinite strike despite threats

Ugandan medical doctors have embarked on an indefinite strike against the poor payment of salaries and lack of sufficient medical facilities. The doctors despite the threat to arrest and jail any doctor on strike the Ugandan Medical Association still wen ahead with the strike.

What happens to the sick patients?

The country's doctors that are protesting poor pay, lack of medical equipment and also added to the reason for the strike, the arbitrary arrests of their colleagues accused of corruption. 
Uganda's Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda during a meeting with organisers of the strike urging them to call off the strike as the government will look into their demands. 

However, his request was rejected with boos. "You don't need to be told that the statement by Ruhakan is just a political statement - i add". Just last week, President Yoweri Museveni made mention he would call a state of emergency should the strike go ahead. Being adamant to their cause, The Uganda Medical Association did not relent on their action, they also said the President Yoweri threatened to arrest striking doctors but the president's press secretary denied this.
