There are reports by online media, The Cable, that former minister of petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has moved into a small London flat after losing several properties to the UK and Nigeria government in an ongoing fraud case against her. The flat rented by the ex-minister is reportedly located in the same building as her apartment recently seized along with other properties by the UK government.
According to naij, Alison-Madueke, who was also recently ordered to forfeit the sum of N7.6billion by a Nigerian court, has had to cut down her expensive lifestyle, hence the decision to move into a rented apartment. Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reiterated its resolve to follow the rule of law as a group, “Concerned Nigerians”, led a protest to its headquarters, calling for repatriation of Alison-Madueke. The anti-graft agency promised to do everything within its power to get judgement against the ex-minister.
