Now many believers have come up with the idea that Tasha cobbs has done nothing wrong by featuring Nicki Minaj in her latest music "i'm getting ready". Now let me get things straight.
Christians have nothing to do with any worldly person!!!. This doesn't mean that Christians have problem with them. No! Christians can eat, drink, do almost anything with anybody so long as it does contradict the world of God.
Now, Tasha cobbs featuring Nicki Minaj is a sin. Tasha cobbsmight be a Nice musician but not anointed.
Let me start with the lack of message or inspiration in the music. She started the music with "Eyes haven't seen, ears haven't heard, the kind of blessing that's about to fall on me".
This first line has confirmed the fact that she must have been promised riches, fame and some earthly other thing if only she would have Nicki minaj play a role. Now you must agree with me that Nicki Minaj is no Christian or gospel musician, and has nothing to do with Christianity. Moreover she has no stuff to sing about except the million dollar deal with PEPSI and the money she has. Where really pricked me was were she said she serves a God that parted the red sea. And i'm like seriously!!!. Nicki minaj serve a God that parted the Red sea, yet she will go Nude in videos and portray certain Negative images in words and actions. This is the kind of musician that Tasha cobbs featured in a song that was meant to glorify God. Tasha said she let Minaj feature cause she wants to win her over. How many times have that worked? If you think Tasha featuring Nicki in a music that was meant for God is okay, that means it is okay for one to use stuffs meant for God for worldly purposes.
Why did Tasha Cobba feature Nicki Minaj?
Was she looking for a female rapper? NO!. Was she looking for someone to help get the music popular? NO!
Then what was she really want? More fame, more money?. Yes, that is what she wants. It is the world so it is very easy for a Music icon like Nicki to get her all of the fame and money she wants. I must say this, Tasha have joined a group of people who she think will help her life out. But let her bear in mind that she had better switched her type of music and should never go singing anything Christian. Tasha has lost the vision. She has failed the ministry.
"I'm getting ready" is actually a good song for that encouragement and desire to expect from God. But, she introduced Nicki who has so ruined her woman body.
But i really don't see the reason why Nicki minaj will accept a proposal like that. Okay lemme say the proposal went this way
"Tasha: Hello Nicki, i'm tasha cobbs and i want you to feature in my next music release, would you mind?
Nicki: I don't mind at all"
Great, the hit the studio and make some music. No arguments the song "i'm getting ready" really had nice tunes but with the wrong feature which everyone might easily overlook and say nothing is wrong with it. I mean Tasha must have gotten all the attention she wants, but what about that guy who just got saved. what happens when he sees a minister like Cobbs doing exactly what she preaches against. Recall what Paul said in the bible.
A female Nigerian has come to support Tasha.
The Nigerian female "gospel musician" known as Nikki Laoye said “Is it your blood that was shed?’
She made a post on instagram and it reads the rest are in photo.
“Oh yeah… Now I am ready… Swipe left to read it all.. Got a lot to share on this.. I had to create a note, took my time to write my thots and God sent ppl around me yesterday to give me more insight on this work of ours..Yes some Gospel Artists like @NikkiLaoye , Tasha Cobbs @tashacobbsleonard, @KirkFranklin, @TimGodfreyworld have a reason why we work with Mainstream artists to share the gospel. ….And here’s my ending note: “IS IT YOUR BLOOD THAT WAS SHED? Lol! ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖And as reminded by a Muslim turned Christian who had to pay a huge price to serve Christ @abiodunfolawiyo last night at an impromptu meeting at @olaitandada’s studio”
Tasha Cobbs defense
Tasha Cobbs defense to critics for featuring Nicki minaj is the dumbest excuse ever she said
“I’ve seen the Nicki that is off the stage and that Nicki has a great relationship with God,” Cobbs Leonard said. “My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some [of the listeners] have never experienced God ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves.”
“The testimonies that have come because of this —I would absolutely do it again. I’ve had thousands of people say to me ‘This is the first time I’ve ever bought a gospel album. This is first time I’ve ever felt God. I didn’t believe in God until I heard this song.’”
“This is not an assignment that man gave to me. This is an assignment that God gave to me, and He prepared the way for me, as only God could,” she added.
In addition to celebrating her album release, Leonard is also prepping for a tour. She will be making stops at intimate venues like BB Kings in New York and Howard Theatre in DC, and has plans for larger venues in cities across the nation.
“It is absolutely the joy of my life to be on stage in worship.”
